Release Date: Nov 6 2018

Blurb/Synopsis:
When Chris Anducci is moved off jail duty and into the sheriff’s office, he doesn’t expect his first assignment to be protecting a witness against a human trafficking ring. Knowing the new sheriff doesn’t abide screw-ups, Chris reluctantly agrees to work the case.
Pavle Kasun has spent the last four years of his life at the mercy of others. When an opportunity presented itself, he took it, resulting in his rescue. Now the safe houses he’s placed in are being threatened and he needs protection if he is to have any sort of chance at a life.
Chris opens his home to Pavle, but he doesn’t expect Pavle and his story to get under his skin… and stay there. Soon they discover they have more in common than either of them thought. Slowly Pavle comes out of his shell and Chris finds someone who touches his heart. But as the men looking for Pavle close in, they will stop at nothing to get him out of the way. But even if Chris can keep him safe, he might not be able to protect his heart if Pavle moves back home.

Slowly a figure, curled up and small, made an appearance from around the side of the dresser. The first thing Chris noticed were the biggest, brownest eyes he had ever seen, filled with the pain of years of hurt. They blinked, and then Pavle stepped farther into the light. Even standing, he looked half hunched over.
“This is Deputy Chris. He’s here because he’s going to help keep you safe.”
Pavle raised his head slightly, his black hair, long and uneven, falling to the sides of his face.
“Hello,” Chris said, mimicking the soft tone the others had used. “I’m Chris. They told me you needed help, so I’m going to protect you so no one hurts you anymore.” In that moment, he made up his mind to do whatever was needed to help this man, and if that meant moving him into his home to protect him, so be it.
“I’d like it if you went with Deputy Chris. He is a good man and will not hurt you,” Marie explained slowly and gently.
Chris didn’t expect Pavle to believe her or to agree to come. “It’s okay if you don’t want to,” Chris said, crouching down so he was at the same level as Pavle. “This is your choice.”
“Choice?” Pavle asked in a raspy voice that tore at Chris’s insides, looking at him and then back to Marie.
“Yes. You can choose to stay here or go with Deputy Chris. We want you to be safe, but we aren’t sure how well we can protect you here. If you go with Deputy Chris, he will protect you. Keep you safe.”
“INS?” Pavle asked.
“No. He is good man. Caring. He will help you.” Marie seemed to have infinite patience.
Pavle blinked, standing still, then nodded and walked to Chris. It seemed as though he either didn’t understand or thought he didn’t have a choice, even though he was being given one. Chris held out his hands, palms up, to show that he wasn’t going to hit him. When Pavle looked at him with those huge eyes and the face of an angel, he looked much younger than the twenty-four listed in his file. Maybe that was his previous owner’s fetish. Still, after all he’d been through, Pavle’s handsomeness and light shone through, with soft features and an almost delicate frame.
“I’ll gather his few things,” Annette said.
Marie extended her hand to take Pavle’s gently. He went with her in silence. She led him out of the house, and once they were in the sun, Chris got a better look at him. Pavle was pale, probably from years of being inside. Chris reminded himself to ask Marie about any past injuries. He suspected that Pavle had been treated very badly in the past and he needed to know if he was okay physically.
“Thank you for doing this,” Marie said once she had opened the door to Chris’s car and gotten Pavle settled in the passenger seat. He sat without moving or looking to either side. “You have to keep him safe. He is the main witness against the man who held him for nearly two years. We need to get that man and then trace back to the people who sold Pavle to him. We’re pulling each thread to see what we can unravel.”
“Okay. I will do my best, I promise you.”
“I’ll follow you to your house and help Pavle get settled.”
As Marie got to her car, Pavle reacted for the first time.
“She’s just riding separately. She will be back in a few minutes.”
Chris drove the short distance to his house and pulled into the garage. He didn’t want Pavle to be seen, and yet he also didn’t want him to feel like a prisoner again by being hidden. He got out and waited, hoping Pavle would get out on his own. After a few moments, Pavle opened the door and climbed out of the car. Chris opened the door to the yard and motioned for Pavle to go ahead of him.
Marie came though behind him, and Chris closed the garage doors and joined the two of them in the yard. Pavle looked around, saying nothing. Chris wished he would say something… anything. He was way too quiet, and that worried Chris because he had no idea what he was thinking, and damn it all, those eyes still held buckets of fear.
“It’s okay. This is where you are going to stay.” Marie gently coaxed Pavle toward the house, and he shuffled along, looking at the yard. Hopefully he liked what he saw. Chris had spent too many hours working out stress for the garden to be unappreciated.
Chris opened the back door, went inside, and turned on lights, letting Marie bring Pavle in the kitchen, motioning toward the living room. Maybe this was the biggest mistake of his life. He wasn’t equipped to handle someone as fragile and frightened as Pavle. Chris had no clue what he needed or even how to get through to him.
“I sold?” Pavle finally asked barely above a whisper.
Chris caught Marie’s gaze, and his heart twisted in his chest. God, this was going to wrench his guts six ways from Sunday.
“No. This is where you are going to live. You are not going to be sold to anyone any more. Deputy Chris is here to help you and nothing more.” She patted his hand and took Pavle through to the other room.
Chris got three glasses of water and put some cookies on a plate. He needed some sugar if he was going to get through this in one piece.
Marie and Pavle were talking softly on the sofa when Chris handed each of them a glass and offered them cookies. Marie took one, and Pavle stared at the plate as though it were a foreign object. Finally, he took one and ate a small bite before shoving the whole thing in his mouth, chewing and swallowing like he hadn’t eaten in days, then he drank the entire glass of water.
Chris offered him another, and Pavle took it in disbelief, ate it quickly, and then rested his hands in his lap.

All for You by: Andrew Grey w/ Interview & giveaway

Title: All for You
Author: Andrew Grey
Genre: M/M Contemporary Romance, Law Enforcement
Publisher: DreamSpinner Press
Release Date: Sept 11 2018
Edition/Format: 1st Edition/Format ~ eBook & Print
Blurb/Synopsis:
The only path to happiness is freedom: the freedom to live and love as the heart wants. Claiming that freedom will take all of the courage one young man has, but he won't have to face it alone. In small, conservative Sierra Pines, California, Reverend Gabriel is the law. His son, Willy, follows his dictates, until he meets a man in Sacramento and reunites with him in his hometown—right under his father's nose. Reggie is Sierra Pines's newly appointed sheriff. His dedication to the job means not flaunting his sexuality, but when he sees Willy again, he can't escape the feeling that they're meant to be together. He'll keep Willy's secret until Willy is ready to let the world see who he really is. But if going up against the church and the townspeople isn't enough, the perils of the work Reggie loves so much might mean the end of their romance before it even gets off the ground.

Willy kicked at the ground, slightly slouched, refusing to look up. “Okay, I guess. But there is no one….” He seemed so lost.
“There will be. Don’t make the same mistakes I did and rush into it. I got hurt pretty bad.” Why Reggie was going into this with someone he barely knew was more than he could understand. The guys knew the truth about what happened to him and that was all. Not even his parents knew all the details. “Not that I would hurt you, but you don’t know me at all. You deserve more than that.” With what he hoped was an encouraging smile, Reggie turned away and headed to Vick’s car. The other two were in the back seat, so he folded his large frame into the front of the small car, buckled up, and closed his eyes.
“Struck out?” Casey teased.
“No. He wanted to. But… I backed away.”
Casey groaned and Bobby snickered. Vick was the only one who said nothing, backing out of the space and getting on the road to the freeway.
“Why not? You would have been good to him. Right?”
“Of course I would have,” Reggie growled. “But he was so scared, and this was his first time venturing out anywhere. I told him to wait and make his first time special with someone he cared about.” He turned to the back seat, where the other two sat, looking at each other. “Do you remember your first time?” he asked both of them. “Was it special or something fumbling and ridiculous?” He already knew the answer because they’d shared their first-time stories years ago.
“But you would have made it special for him, and now some other guy is going to come along and probably be a dick to him, big-time,” Bobby piped up.
“Shut up,” Vick said. “You’re being an ass, and Reggie was being nice and did the right thing. Half the people in that bar kept looking at that kid like he was a piece of meat.” Vick patted Reggie’s leg gently. “I’m proud of you. Yeah, you could have gotten laid, but you took the gentlemanly way and not only helped the kid, but maybe gave him something to think about. That was pretty cool.”
“Yeah. Reggie was nice. The perfect hero. So as a reward, he’s going home with his right hand instead of that tight, hot little body that could be wrapped around him like a pretzel right about now. Oww!” Casey groused when Bobby smacked him on the shoulder. “What are you hitting me for?”
“You’re being an ass,” Bobby told him. “Now stop it.” He patted Reggie’s shoulder. “You’re right. You were nice to him. It would have been nice to have had someone older to help us when we were trying to figure shit out. Because, man, did we manage to fuck things up bad so many times. It’s a miracle we didn’t all die of broken hearts and end up with permanent appointments at the clap clinic.”
Yeah, Reggie knew he’d done the right thing, but still, Casey was right, and it bugged him that his mind flashed images of just what he might have missed.

"You think being a genetically enhanced super-soldier is hard? Trying being a 1st grade teacher."
That was a joke Jocelyn use to say to her teammate in training camp. Today, many of those she befriended in camp are dead. Desperate to keep her two sisters-in-arms alive, Jocelyn is willing to throw herself into any challenge. Sadly, that's going to be harder than she thought, because Ophelia is slowing going mad and Patricia is just a normal human who just happens to be an incredible sniper... but still just normal.
How do you defeat foes that can turn the earth herself against you?
How do you defeat foes that can dodge bullets?
How do you defeat foes who've already signed their own death warrants?
With the war between the Northern Alliance and Keynosa leaving both of their lands in ruins, Jocelyn's and her team are finally poised to win and end the war for good. But, a new weapon, one that can instantly stop even a super-soldier with a single shot, has hit the battlefield.
Together, Patricia, Jocelyn and Ophelia are sent on a mission to destroy this new weapon and their enemy is willing to throw all they have to stop them. These living war machines are in a race against two enemies, but which will destroy them first? The lethal new weapon from Keynosa or their own inner demons?

She was such a beautiful girl. When I first saw her, I felt a twinge of jealousy. Everything was perfect on her, nothing sagged or jiggled. Flawless, she turned to me, smiling, asking about my necklace. It was my most cherished possession, given to me by my students.

I lost that thing on a battlefield. I can’t even remember which one now. It was a valuable reminder of my old life as a teacher. Now, it’s just something else I lost on one of many battlefields.
“Oa, do you remember when we first met?” I ask, chuckling to the glass between us. “Oh god, I found you so annoying. So perky and outgoing — and you had no filter whatsoever. You know, I actually wanted to smack you when you dared to invade my space and touch my necklace.
“Do you remember that necklace?” I ask. No response of course, but in my mind’s eye, her playful expression brightens the room.
I wipe the fog of my breath from the glass and stand straight, eying the flickering light of the screen above her prison. “Now that I know you, I can see you did it because you were nervous.” I return my eyes to the receding condensation. “We both were. It’s just, I didn’t want to talk... certainly not to someone so sickeningly cute.”
The egg beeps in response.
“I still laugh when I think back to the inoculation incident. It was finally your turn, and the long steel pole came down and injected you. That’s when we first met Patricia.” I laugh. “You jumped and let out that weird high-pitched yelp that terrified everyone in line behind us.”
“I do remember that.” I hear from behind me. It’s Patricia. I’d know her voice anywhere. I’m surprised I didn’t sense her entrance. Must be this room but shielded. Must save techs the trouble of calming the revived FOG soldiers when they wake them. “What are you doing in here, Jos?” Patricia asks as if she doesn’t know.
“Keeping Oa company, of course,” I say, turning to face her. The sight of Patricia stops my thoughts in their tracks. She looks gorgeous! “Oh my God, Pat, look at you!”
Her lopsided smirk quickly becomes a full smile. “What? I told you I was going to the party.”
“I know that, but I didn’t expect to see... this,” I say, waving my hand up and down in her direction.
She grins widely, brushing her hands down her dress. “It’s nice, right? I got it made weeks ago, had it shipped to the camp. I promised myself I’d wear it if we ever won back Steel Harbor.”
“No, sweetie, it’s not just the dress, it’s the woman wearing it. You are rockin’ that dress, girl!” I exclaim.

Cleansing Flame by: Andrew Grey w/ Creative Post & Giveaway

Title: Cleansing Flame
Author: Andrew Grey
Series: Rekindled Flame Series Book 2
Genre:  M/M Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press
Release Date: Mar 10 2017
Edition/Formats Available In: eBook & Print
Blurb/Synopsis:
Life has been grinding Dayne Mills down almost for as long as he can remember. First he lost the love of his life in an accident that also left him with a permanent injury, and then his mother passed away a year later. When his house burns to the ground, it’s the last straw. He can’t take any more, and if it wasn’t for kind and handsome firefighter Lawson Martin offering him a hand up and a place to stay, he doesn’t know what he’d do. Dayne would love for his relationship with Lawson to evolve into something beyond charity, but he knows going after a man so far out of his league will only lead to yet more heartache. It’s best to just keep his mind on his research.

It’s that research that leads Dayne to an old student journal that not only provides clues to the Native American heritage Lawson has been searching for, but chronicles a century-old love story. The tale that unfolds might be just what Dayne and Lawson need to remember that no matter how dark life becomes, love can find a way to shine through.

Lawson had no idea what time it was or why he was awake, but something wasn’t right. He sat up, listening, and heard a cry. He shoved back the covers and followed the whimpers and cries to Dayne’s room. Hearing a “No!” Lawson peered inside.
Dayne had kicked off the covers, his eyes still closed, and was lying on his side, kicking his legs repeatedly. Lawson was about to turn to leave when Dayne cried out once move and lurched toward the edge of the bed. Lawson raced forward and caught him as he came off the mattress. Dayne struggled and fought, squirming and thrashing.
“Dayne, it’s all right.” He laid Dayne back on the bed and gently tried to wake him.
“Lawson?” Dayne asked, instantly calming and looking up at him with startled blue eyes. “What are you doing here?” He grabbed for the covers at the end of the bed and yanked them up to cover himself. Then Dayne looked back at him, and even in the light from the hall, Lawson saw Dayne blush beet red and then turn away.
“You were thrashing, and I caught you as you fell off the bed.” Lawson took a step back so he didn’t cause Dayne any more distress. “I heard you yelling in your sleep and wanted to make sure you were okay.” God, did Dayne think he was attacking him or something?
“Oh.” Dayne relaxed a little and lowered the covers he’d been using like a shield. “I guess I’m a little jumpy.”
“Ya think?” Lawson teased, giving Dayne a wink. Thankfully Dayne understood and smiled slightly. Lawson sat on the edge of the bed. “Do you want to talk about what happened?”
“It’s the middle of the night and….” Dayne’s eyes darted around the room, settling on him for a few seconds and then moving away. “You’re nearly naked,” he finally squeaked out, and Lawson realized he was only wearing a pair of old boxer shorts.
“I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. I was just concerned when I heard you calling out.” As he went to stand, Dayne touched his arm. Lawson stilled when Dayne didn’t move his hand or pull away.
“You’re stunning,” Dayne breathed, then turned away, pulling his hand back. “Sorry. That was a dumb thing to say.” He rose the shield of covers again. “Just let me die of embarrassment here. You’ve been nice enough to let me stay here. You don’t need some twiggy doofus perving on you.”
Lawson reached for Dayne, touching his chin with just the tips of his fingers. “How about I go back to bed, and we both try to get some more sleep? I understand if you don’t want to talk about what’s happening, but try to sleep and not fall off the bed. I don’t want you to hurt yourself.” Dayne’s lips, red and pulled slightly with worry, screamed irresistible, and his eyes were filled with such pain that Lawson wanted to kiss it all away. He knew it wasn’t that simple—pain and loss rarely were, especially with as much as Dayne had endured lately—but he wanted to try.
Dayne gazed at him, and Lawson saw Dayne’s hands and arms relax, the covers lowering enough to reveal where his nipples poked slightly at the fabric of his T-shirt. Damn, Lawson wanted to tug away that cotton and reveal what was underneath. Heat built in his groin, and he needed to cool it or things were going to get awkward, and he wasn’t wearing enough to keep his dick from making a full-on appearance. Not that he was ashamed of what he had in any way, but he didn’t need to scare Dayne or have Dayne think he was trying to push himself on him. “Good night,” Lawson rasped, lightly caressing Dayne’s cheek before standing and leaving the room.
As Lawson returned to his room, Tati came up the stairs. She sat, blinking at him the way cats did, and Lawson looked back. At some point in the night, she usually paid him a visit. Lawson expected her to stroll over, but instead she slinked across the hall, peeked into Dayne’s room, and went inside. He watched, and she didn’t come out. Sneaking back, he peered through the open door. Dayne lay on his side facing away from the door with Tati curled in the crook of his legs, her back pressed to Dayne’s backside. Lawson shook his head, returned to his room, and went back to bed, trying not to think of Dayne.

Jack on the Rocks by: H. L. LeRoy w/ Review

Genre: Thriller/Mystery
Publisher: Kindle Worlds (the World of J.A. Konrath)
Release Date: Dec 11, 2016
Edition/Formats Available In: eBook/Kindle ONLY
Rating:
Blurb/Synopsis:
LIEUTENANT JACK DANIELS should have seen the avalanche of trouble headed her way but events had dulled her edge and crumbled her foundation of toughness. With the press and politicians all coming for her, Jack begins to question whether she is really a cold blooded murderer or simply losing her mind. Was it an officer involved shooting gone wrong? An honest mistake? Or, something much, much worse?
There's one thing for sure, it has turned the Chicago Police Department upside down, and Lieutenant Jack Daniels' life along with it.

On the way in, I called Herb and told him what happened, and he said he'd take care of Tina's car. I knew that the state's attorney wasn't going to bring me good news, and the word 'indictment' kept running through my mind.
When I got in, Banes told me the state's attorney was going to be late. Anger started to eat at me as I sat in my office cooling my heels.
A few minutes later, I saw Lieutenant Cavanaugh weave his way through the bullpen carrying a pink box of pastries.
"Donut call."
The few detectives who were in each grabbed a donut as he passed.
"Where's Herb?"
"He's following up on Tina Mills."
Cavanaugh stood at Herb's desk for a moment and then laid two chocolate éclairs on a napkin. "He never could eat just one," he said.
Coming into my office he plopped the box on my side table. "Donut, Lieutenant?"
"Later."
"Buzz in the halls is that the State's Attorney's on his way over. The Becky Walsh thing." He paused for a second. "I'm not surprised. They're slime. I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am about what happened. And more importantly to let you know that we're all on your side."
"I'm damaged goods around here, if I were you, I'd avoid me."
"Here's the thing. If it wasn't you, it would have been one of us. You did what any good cop would have done."
"How long have you been in Narco?'
"Sixteen years."
"Is there the same bullshit up there that we face down here?"
"I'd say it's worse but it's probably just as shitty.
"Well, I appreciate your kind words.
My first opinion of Cavanaugh had been dead wrong. He was a good guy and a good cop.
We sat and talked for a little bit longer and as Cavanaugh stood to leave, a suit walked into my office.
Medium height, with dark, perfectly quaffed news anchor hair, and wearing a tailored suit dropped a card on my desk.
I pushed it around with a pencil so it was turned the right way.
DOUGLAS ABBOTT
ASSISTANT STATE'S ATTORNEY (ASA)
SPECIAL PROSECUTIONS BUREAU
COOK COUNTY STATE'S ATTORNEY'S OFFICE
"Very impressive," I said and flicked the card away. "So tell me, ASA Douglas Abbott, why do you want to see me?"
"ASA Abbott is an asshole. He busts cops for a living." Cavanaugh gave Abbott a look and then made his way out of my office and through the bullpen.
"That true?"
"Like the man said, I bust cops."
"I'm sure your mother must be very proud."
He ignored my little dig.
"States Attorney Turner has assigned me to your case. He did so because I've never lost."
He seemed disappointed that I didn't respond.
"You have two files. One four-inches-thick and another almost seven inches thick, and you always seem to skate. Funny how that is."
"You're implying that I've been guilty and gotten away with it."
He shrugged.
"And that I'm not going to skate now."
He smiled. "You did shoot her after all."
"What happened to Internal Affairs? They're supposed to handle this stuff."
"Nepotism. They're working on it, but Mayor Walsh says I get first crack."
"Lucky me." My future wearing an orange jumpsuit flashed before my eyes.
"We'll be going for at least second degree murder." He smiled. "Four to twenty in prison."
"I know what murder two is."
"Maybe we'll discuss a plea," he said over his shoulder as he walked out. "How does that sound?"
"It sounds like Cavanaugh was right, you're an asshole."

SAMPLE

They eyed each other silently, neither one offering up a word to start the conversation.
In the quiet between them, Giselle studied the scent. Definitely a perfume: natural oils of patchouli had been mixed with clary sage and just a hint of citronella. It worked well to mask the other synthetic smells of deodorant and floral soap that still clung to her body, but not well enough to trick Giselle’s nose. This woman was no wolf. She was definitely a witch, though. The pendant she wore was enough to give that away, and the Bohemian style clothing with flowing skirts and odd colorful patterns screamed “earth mother.”
The woman closed the distance between them after the silence had long since gone stale. “You do recognize me, don’t you?” There was an oddly hopeful edge in the woman’s voice that caught Giselle off guard.
Should she recognize her? Sure, they both were redheads. But how many other ginger women in the world were there? That meant nothing. And if she was being truly honest with herself, all the faces of all the foster families that had taken her in and subsequently sent her back into the system had long since blurred together into one wretched image in her mind. If this woman had been a part of the foster system, she was barking up the wrong tree if she thought Giselle would welcome her back into her life with open arms.
“Sorry. No.” Giselle crossed her arms in front of her and stood firmly in place.
“Oh, but how could you?” A tear trickled from the corner of the woman’s eye. “I just thought… You were such a tiny thing the last time I held you in my arms.”
Giselle scoffed silently, remembering all the broken promises and false hope that came with each new family that took her in. “Lots of people held me in their arms… and dropped me just as quickly.”
Her words seemed to cut straight to the woman’s heart. More waterworks had her wiping her cheeks with the billowy sleeve of her shirt. “I know. I wish I could have given you a different life. You were meant for so much better things. But…I… sorry.” She sniffled, taking a few stuttered breaths, and then cleared her throat. “Giselle, I am so very sorry.”
“I never told you my name.” The woman’s tears had tugged at Giselle’s heart, but at the mention of her name, she was back on point. How much did this woman know of who she was? And why?
“I didn’t mean to come off so forward. I have just been searching for you for so long.” The woman reached a hand out as if to welcome her in for a hug, but Giselle took one step backwards, out of her reach.
Giselle opened her mouth to speak, but the words refused to come. The woman had all but admitted to being her mother. She had certainly made a show of emotions. But sad as they were, her sobs failed to stir the same feelings within Giselle. Numbness and confusion had Giselle’s feelings locked tighter than a bank vault. If she was her mother… But that wasn’t possible. She was no wolf.

Release day will be here before you know it. Snag the PreOrder now and be first in line to see if the witch is telling Giselle the truth or not.
