Blurb/Synopsis:

For glass artist Ashton Weller, Longboat Key seems like the perfect place to start over. It’s warm, sunny, and far from the dangerous ex he left behind in Chicago, even if his glass studio does get even more uncomfortable in the Florida heat. It’s also home to Terrance Manetti, a man who turns into Ashton’s inadvertent hero when he saves him from some unsavory types at a local restaurant…and may turn into more than that.

Former mobster Terrance has been in Witness Protection with his "brothers" ever since they turned state’s evidence against their former employer. His brothers have a different life here, filled with family and small-time, honest jobs, and Terrance doesn’t know whether to be jealous or derisive.

Not until he meets Ashton, anyway. With Ashton, Terrance could build the kind of life he’s never dared to want—the kind of life where he won’t need the skills he learned in organized crime. Or so he thinks—until Ashton’s past comes looking for him….

How would you introduce your books to someone that has yet to read them?

That is a really good question because its one of the hardest things to do in this business.  The easiest way is when someone else recommends the books.  That goes a lot further than anything I can say.  But beyond that, what I do is ask them what sort of things they like to read and then introduce them to a book that fits that it is they like.  Let them do the talking instead of me when possible.
There have ben many times when I’m at a signing event or conference and by their answer, I can tell that my books aren’t for them.  I don’t give up, but I don’t push the books on them either.  Instead I talk to them and try to make a more personal connection.  Sometimes they decide to give the books a try and other times they simply wander on, but it doesn’t matter.  A book is a personal thing to the author and to the reader.   I always hope I can male that connection with the reader, but it isn’t always possible.
