Excerpt
In an almost magical movement, Julian swept me off the sofa, and his muscular arms hoisted me up. Instantaneously, my legs wrapped around him, my feet locked together to hold me. The entire walk to the counter, his lips and his tongue were like fire on mine. The moment my bottom hit the cold stone, a wicked grin flashed on his face. “Cher, how would you like to christen the counter?”
“I would love nothing more,” I breathed out, and my breasts heaved.
With his arms still around me, he pulled me to the edge of the counter, then bent down and slipped off my shoes. The softness of his lips started at one of my ankles and continued up my leg. He grazed a finger lightly on the bottom of my foot as his lips whispered back down and moved to the other leg. When finished with that leg, he moved up to my thigh and pushed my skirt up to reveal the crisscrossed skin. Julian’s hair fell down around my legs, and his soft kisses on my scars sent an explosion through my body. My hand brushed through his long, wavy, dark hair. “Oh damn, Julian, that feels great,” I moaned out.

Where do the ideas for your books come from?
It’s weird I have gotten ideas while driving. I have even had a dream one time that I jotted down for a story idea.  A lot of them come to me while I am about to go to sleep.  It’s funny I look at as my ideas coming from the characters themselves.

Have you ever co-written book/books? If so was it difficult? If not would you ever consider co-writing with another author?
No I haven’t, and I have been asked by a friend.  We just have to start writing.

Where do you get your character names from?
Google.  Hahahaha. No really I googled Louisiana last names.  I wanted to make sure I had names that originated from here. Rosaleigh is actually named after my favorite flower and my grandmother started a tradition by naming one of her daughters with the middle name Leigh which trickled down to my cousin and second cousin. I was searching African names and came across the name Jahane and fell in love with it.  I’ve also gotten name ideas from my cover artist Anya Kelleye.  Some of the others just came to me.

What type of research goes into your writing?
Even though I live in Louisiana, I still do research even on the streets, locations, culture, and whatnot. Since I work at a library I have a vast array of research at my fingertips. I’ve read a ton on Marie Laveau and I do know a voodoo practitioner who helped me quite a bit for this first book. But even if you think you know things, always research.

Are your family and friends supportive of your writing?
Yes they are.  In fact my dad kept pushing me to write.

Do you remember when your interest in writing came about?
Actually I was role playing and after my dad said I needed to write, I thought you know this is fun.

Other than writing what are your interest?
I love watching old movies, hanging with friends, visiting the city and of course reading.

Did you learn anything from writing your books, if so what was it?
I learned so much.  First never ever hurry. Take your time and put your best work out there.  And it takes a village to write a book.  But foremost always remember this is your baby and only you will truly love it 100% mistakes and all.

What are your current WIP? Can you share with us?
Of course I actually have quite a few I’m working on.  The first in a side story told in Athena’s POV who is the magical dog in Voodoo Vows is written.  I am currently working on her second story along with the second book in Voodoo Vows series.  Hmmm well I’ll say this, the next story Rosie will come more into her powers all on her own. As for Julian well let’s just say a plot twist is in his future.

As a young girl, Diana Marie Dubois was an avid reader and was often found in the local public library. Now you find her working in her local library. Hailing from the culture filled state of Louisiana, just outside of New Orleans; she lives with her three Great Danes and four spunky mutts.  Her biggest inspiration has always been the infamous Anne Rice and her tales of Vampires. It was those very stories that inspired Diana to take hold of her dreams and begin writing. She is now working on her first series, Voodoo Vows.
