Kali
It’s not easy being a female in a male dominated profession. Most people can’t name five female guitarist, bass or lead, but I bet they can name five male guitar players. Still, I am at the top of my profession. I’ve proven to the world that music ability isn’t driven by gender. It hadn’t always been that way, but now I am in constant demand. My time is no longer my own. As for a relationship with a significant other? I stay away from other musicians I perform with or might perform with, like the plague. Not good to mix business with pleasure. Still, I’m only human and I wake up in the middle of the night reaching for something that’s just not there. Then one day he danced for me, and suddenly, I was no longer empty inside.

Violence. Due to the content of this work recommended for 18+ only.
This is the third book in The Ballerina Series but can be read as a standalone.

The warm air brushed against my skin, it did nothing to cool the heat already in my blood. We stopped once the water covered our toes.
Then beneath the rays of the full moon, he turned to me. Without a word, he took me into his arms and his mouth covered mine. Covered seems too tame a word. Devoured, yes—he devoured me.
I’m not quite sure how we even ended up back in his hotel room. I seemed to have lost track between the kiss by the water under the moon and his bed. I remember drifting through the lobby, his hand in mine, but it’s kind of foggy. The ride up in the elevator with more of his mind-fuzzing kisses, and then the feel of softness against my back. My eyes opened at the contact of my bare back against the soft cool cotton sheets. I grinned against his mouth. “When did you take my bra off? My shirt’s still on,” I mumbled.
He chuckled. “I only lifted your shirt.”
I glanced down and realized he was right. My shirt was raised exposing my chest to his hungry gaze, but my bra remained on. “Well, let’s just fix that problem right now.” I took off the shirt and tossed it behind him.
Then, he did the same thing with my bra. “Damn babe.” His eyes landed on the nipple balls on my left breast. He lowered his head and tongued the twin balls on either side of my nipple, making sure he brushed them with each pass. “That’s fucking hot,” he moaned.
My breasts weren’t very large. Okay, well in truth, I had just enough to be marked as female. The nipple ring merely added to it. I only had one. Not that I flashed it at a lot of people, but I loved it.
Apparently, judging from the hungry-eyed gaze and the way he licked his lips, Dante did too.

Love Comes Unheard by: Andrew Grey w/ Guest Post

Title: Love Comes Unheard
Author: Andrew Grey
Series: Senses Series
Genre: M/M Contemporary
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press
Release Date: Sept 18 2015
Edition/Formats Available In: eBook & Print
Blurb/Synopsis:
Garrett Bowman is shocked that fate has brought him to a family who can sign. He's spent much of his life on the outside looking in, even within his biological family, and to be accepted and employed is more than he could have hoped for. With Connor, who’s included him in his family, Garrett has found a true friend, but with the distant Brit Wilson Haskins, Garrett may have found something more. In no time, Garrett gets under Wilson’s skin and finds his way into Wilson’s heart, and over shared turbulent family histories, Wilson and Garrett form a strong bond.
Wilson’s especially impressed with the way Garrett’s so helpful to Janey, Connor and Dan’s daughter, who is also deaf. When Wilson’s past shows up in the form of his brother Reggie, bringing unscrupulous people to whom Reggie owes money, life begins to unravel. These thugs don’t care how they get their money, what they have to do, or who they might hurt. Without the strength of love and the bonds of family and friends, Garrett and Wilson could pay the ultimate price.

The front door opened, and Wilson stepped out. Janey came out as well, and she waved when she saw him, breaking into a huge smile. Garrett slowly walked up to the door, wondering what kind of fairy tale he had just fallen into. Connor motioned him forward, lifted Janey into his arms, and carried her back inside with a huge hug.
“Please come in,” Wilson signed.
Garrett wasn’t so sure. What the hell would the likes of him do in a place like this? He carried his suitcase close to his body and reminded himself not to touch anything or get dirt anywhere. The internal admonitions had started, and he hadn’t even stepped inside.
Wow, he thought once he did. The place was huge, and it was so clean it sparkled. The floors glistened, and chandeliers gleamed overhead.
A boy in a motorized chair rolled up to him. “I’m Jerry,” he signed as best he could with his curled fingers. Garrett smiled.
“I’m Garrett,” he signed back and shook the boy’s offered hand. He was small and obviously couldn’t walk, but the smile Garrett received was luminous. It seemed Jerry was at that age where he wanted to start acting like a man.
Jerry began to talk, but Garrett couldn’t understand what he was saying. His lips didn’t form the words in a way that he could read them. He glanced at Wilson, who signed what Jerry had said.
“Yes. I’d… like… to… see… your… drawings,” he said slowly. Jerry turned and rolled away. Garrett wondered if he should follow or what.
Wilson lightly touched his shoulder. “Let me show you your room. I explained to Jerry that he needs to be patient.” Wilson smiled, and Garrett nodded, following Wilson up the stairs and down a hall lined with pictures of the kids with grinning faces looking out of picture frame after picture frame. Wilson opened a door, and Garrett stepped inside. The room was small but very nice, and it smelled clean. The late-afternoon sun shone in the windows.
“The bathroom is through that door,” Wilson signed and then pointed. “My room is right across the hall if you need anything.”
“Thank you.”
“Dinner will be ready in half an hour,” Wilson signed, and Garrett nodded. He’d have time to take a shower. It had been too long since he’d felt clean.
Garrett stared at Wilson, taking in his crisp pants and flawless light blue shirt with a hint of skin at the collar. The man was gorgeous, in Garrett’s opinion, with his aquiline nose and water blue eyes. He hadn’t even realized he’d been looking that long until Wilson began to move out of the room. Garrett turned away and felt heat rise in his cheeks. He’d been staring, and he had no right to. “Thank… you,” Garrett said just before Wilson disappeared from view.

Time Shifters by: Myra Nour w/ Interview

Title: Time Shifters
Author: Myra Nour
Series: Standalone
Genre: Paranormal Romance w/ Time Travel Elements
Publisher: Self-Published
Release Date: May 1 2015
Edition/Synopsis: eBook
Blurb/Synopsis:
Briana has heard his voice for years in dreams. Calling to her. She hears that same voice in the handsome stranger she meets on vacation. Captivating and so familiar. When he unexpectedly transforms into a werewolf, Briana flees in horror. She knows him … he is the wolfman who haunts her dreams. More than anything else, it is her lustful response to the beast that terrifies her.
When Raynor finally meets his mate, he is confused by her reaction and even more so by her response when he shifts. She doesn't recognize him. In an attempt to escape, Briana jumps through the time portal of his people, landing her in Medieval England. Raynor must rescue her, which requires bonding with Briana as her mate. But first he must teach Briana that she is a shifter, then convince her not to be repelled by her other self, an ancient, powerful shifter. A snakewoman.

“Oh,” she groaned aloud. There he was again, the dark mysterious figure that haunted her more nights than she cared to count. This time, they stood facing each other in the middle of a night-black forest; she was already frightened, her breathing frenzied and her heart pounding. She felt like she was caught in the middle of a Twilight Zone episode—death approached, but it was as if she were stuck in quagmire and couldn’t move.
He edged closer, stepped into the moonlit glade between her and the protective foliage that had covered his form. A werewolf! Briana was shocked. Even though she was a strong person, she was too scared to move an inch. She’d expected a menacing stranger, not a fictional monster. He looked real enough, his body bulky with muscles, and she even noticed a musky odor.
Abruptly, the creature jumped in one great predatory leap, landing directly in front of her. His weight crashed a small branch into kindling as he landed. Strangely, she wasn’t frightened, not now. Why? She didn’t know. Her heart thudded heavily against her chest, her breathing came out in short pants, but from another source entirely—she was turned on. Briana found this startling. The appearance of a savage, beast-like wolfman made her hot? It was insane, this sudden switch from terror to lust.
For years, she had been involved in strange encounters with this mystery man, who tonight, had turned out to be a nightmarish creature. But this was turning into the weirdest experience she’d ever had. Once he had made his appearance in wolf/human form, she no longer feared his presence. It was as if there was a connection between them, a hidden knowledge she found puzzling.
“Who are you?”
His answer was a guttural growl, then a pounce onto her body. She fell to the ground, landing uninjured on a soft pile of leaves. For some crazy reason, she knew he did not intend to hurt her. The beast’s body was heavy, his long hair tickling against her exposed skin. She glanced down at her naked body, again surprised; she’d been wearing her nightgown earlier.
Drool dripped onto her chin and she looked up into its beautiful, but eerie golden eyes, strangely unaffected by the savage grin of its fanged mouth. She still wasn’t frightened.

Challenge the Darkness by: Dirk Greyson w/ Guest Post

Title: Challenge the Darkness
Author: Dirk Greyson
Series: Yellowstone Wolves
Genre: M/M Paranormal Shifters
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press
Release Date: Aug 31 2015
Edition/Formats Available In: eBook & Print
Blurb/Synopsis:
When alpha shifter Mikael Volokov is called to witness a challenge, he learns the evil and power-hungry Anton Gregor will stop at nothing to attain victory. Knowing he will need alliances to keep his pack together, Mikael requests a congress with the Evergreen pack and meets Denton Arguson, Evergreen alpha, to ask for his help. Fate has a strange twist for both of them though, and Mikael and Denton soon realize they’re destined mates.
Denton resists the pull between them—he has his own pack and his own responsibilities. But Mikael isn't willing to give up. The Mother has promised Mikael his mate, told him he must fight for him, and that only together can they defeat the coming darkness. When Anton casts his sights on Denton's pack, attacks and sabotage follow, pulling Denton and Mikael together to defeat a common enemy. But Anton’s threats sow seeds of destruction enough to break any bond, and the mates’ determination to challenge the darkness may be their only saving grace.

His home was a larger version of the guest quarters. Exposed beams, paneled walls, heavy, masculine furniture—it was the home of a man. His mother had done her best to soften the place when she and his father had lived here, but she knew the battle was lost once Mikael took over. He liked things simple and didn’t do fussy. However, that didn’t mean he hadn’t let his mother help him decorate. The walls were filled with pictures of his family and pack. This great room was the center of the pack and where everyone spent a lot of their time.
Mikael threw his dirty clothes in the hamper and went right to his bathroom, where he brushed his teeth and took a shower before crawling into bed, envying the boys who had someone to curl up with at night. He’d slept in a pile with his brothers and sister until they’d found mates and had families of their own. Now, as alpha, he slept alone, just like as leader he alone made decisions and accepted the consequences that affected his entire family. He hadn’t really understood what his father had done and how effortlessly he seemed to do it until Mikael had taken over for him after his death. He had known he was expected to lead, and he thought he’d been prepared for it. But after five years, there were still times when he wondered if he was strong enough to protect his family. After tonight he wondered that even more. Could anything protect them from Anton should he turn his sights in the direction of Mikael’s family?

The meadow was unlike any he’d ever seen or smelled before. Wait… yes it was. Somewhere from deep inside, a long-faded memory, one nearly dead, sprang to life. The sky was bluer, the wind fresher, the trees more pungent, the breeze perfect. He stood with nothing between his skin and the kiss of the breeze. This was her domain, and he remembered the first and only other time he had been here.
“Your fears are well-founded.” She stepped from behind a tree, the sun forming a type of halo. Her eyes were as dark as a night sky with stars transforming the blackness from menace to beauty, for that’s what she was—beauty personified, with lips the color of the strawberries that covered the small glen near the compound in early summer, and hair the color of summer wheat.
“I understand.”
She didn’t need to explain. Her meaning was clear as an image of Anton in wolf form filled his mind.
“The last time you were here I showed you your mate. Remember him, and remember that you will need each other far more than you will initially realize.”
Mikael lowered his gaze. “I understand,” he repeated.
“No, you don’t, but you will eventually. Remember that I have chosen him for you.”
“I will,” Mikael said because he had no choice. She was his goddess, the one who had seen the pack through the decades of darkness and eventually found a way for them to rejoin the light. He owed her everything.
She chuckled and her eyes danced, galaxies whirling in their depths. “It may not be as easy as you think.” She was clearly taking some enjoyment in this. “You will need to face him.” Anton as a man flashed in his mind. “But how you face him will be up to you.”
“Why are you telling me this? Isn’t Anton one of your children too?” Goddesses were a mystery, but it seemed they should play fair.
“No. He is definitely not one of my children. He is not of the light.” She turned as birds glided down to her head, landing gently in her hair. “I must go, and you must return.”
“Why tell me this?” The light faded and the meadow with its trees and green disappeared into the darkness.
“So you will know.”

Mikael opened his eyes and breathed in the familiar scents of home. He was back in his own bed. Damn, goddesses were flashy.
“Don’t complain—I could have taken you to the North Pole.”
Gentle laughter filled his head and then faded away. He lay still and hoped she was gone as he shivered slightly at the thought. He got up and walked to the window, pushing the curtains aside before staring out into the darkness. Whatever that dream had been, the message was clear. He’d already known he had a mate out there somewhere, and he assumed that the experience he’d just had meant he was going to meet him soon. After a few minutes, he turned, pulled the curtains, and went back to bed. He needed his sleep for what he was going to have to do tomorrow.

Werewolf Bound by: MaryLynn Bast

Title: Werewolf Bound
Author: MaryLynn Bast
Series: Heart of a Wolf Series {Companion Novella}
Genre: Paranormal Fantasy
Publisher: Werewolf Tails Publishing
Release Date: Original Release Date July 17, 2012
Edition/Formats: eBook & Print
Blurb/Synopsis:
Adam Channing knows the rules…during the Full Moon Phase— DON’T GO IN THE WOODS.
Yet, he can’t ignore the call of a young female werewolf Patricia DuFur. He knows it’s against pack rules, but can’t resist the temptation and faces the consequences when her three brothers attack and leave him to die.
With Blake as a friend, he is well on his way to learning the ways of being a werewolf. Adams is constantly in a state of change when he receives the gift of “Seer”. His life takes on a whole new meaning out in the forest.

Lying on the ground with his eyes closed, he struggled to breathe. His entire body hurt. When her hand touched his arm he suddenly felt calm, his tense body began to relax. The moon was bright, shining down through the trees. It made Adam want to linger, to stay where he was comfortable and rest. But something, rather someone, was telling him he needed to wake up, now was not the time for him to take a nap. Reluctantly opening his eyes, he forced himself to stand, and frowned when he did so. Glancing down, he saw a body on the ground with the knife protruding out of its chest. His body!
Startled, Adam jumped back, staring at his hands and then down at the clear form that his body now seemed to be. He could almost see through himself. Opening his mouth to speak, no sound would come out. He began to tremble. His body on the ground was too still. He became worried. Pacing and shaking his head staring in horror at his naked frame continued to lie so still on the bed of leaves that coated the ground, No, I can’t be dead! Not like this, I can still feel everything.
Adam watched the small white haired woman reach for the knife. He started to stretch his hand out trying to stop her from pulling the knife form his chest.
Blake beat him to it. He was beside her, snatching her hand away from Adam’s prone form before she touched the handle.
Adam could do nothing but stand there and watch the woman’s hand touch Blake softly. Her hand glowed and Blake’s eyes opened wide for a moment then his entire demeanor went from being aggressively protective to relaxing and letting her have her way.
A soft smile curved both their lips.
Adam was incapable of communicating with Blake in his clear form. He was forced to watch Blake nod, release her hand and step back. The pale woman’s hand moved back towards his body on the ground. She gently caressed the knife with the tip of her fingers. She didn’t wrap her hand around the knife, yet it began to lift up.
Adam watched, horrified that Blake was allowing this female to pull the knife from his chest. Blake had said it himself, pulling it out would kill him. If he consented to her to doing this, it would allow the blade to rip his heart apart and would definitely end his life. Blake was supposed to be his friend. How could he stand by and let someone they didn’t even know do this to him? Adam trusted Blake with his life!
The emotions were overwhelming and he wanted to scream, to lash out. He couldn’t believe, after all he had been through, nearly dying twice before and all the pain he endured, now to be die as he stood idly by and just watched. And while Blake stood by and let it happen, this was just too much.
His mind was fuzzy. The life he had spent over the past six months, since being changed, flashed through his mind. With Blake’s help, he was acquiring the ability to cope. Not that it did any good now. Just when he was getting the hang of being a werewolf, it was all going away. What really sucked was the lousy drunken human ended his life and now Blake was allowing the girl, he was trying to save, finish him like this.
The female being that knelt by his body was not human. Adam didn’t know what she was and he seriously didn’t want her touching him. Reaching for her shoulder he had to pull her away from his lifeless form, Adam’s hand continued passing through her. Not even disturbing her or even the air in the least.
Staring down at his useless hand, then at his body, Adam moved over to Blake. Trying to get his attention by jumping up and down, Adam waved his arms wildly in front of him, trying to reach out to grab him as well. He had to let Blake know he was still here, that he was not gone and didn’t want to go anywhere! Similar to what it had done with the female, his hand passed through Blake unhindered. His clear form affected nothing at all. Adam stood, helplessly staring at his friend and the strange being. So much for ghosts being able to jump into people’s bodies and control them. Adam shook his head. His thoughts were extremely jumbled.
Blake watched in complete fascination while the knife slowly exited Adam’s skin. A small amount of blood seeped from the wound, covering the knife and dripping down his side to puddle on the leaves. While the blade vacated the laceration, the skin sealed itself shut, like a zipper being closed.
The woman’s fingertips barely touched the knife, yet it continued to lift up and away from Adam’s chest. With a slight push of her hand, the knife floated away and was allowed to fall to the ground beside Adams body. She closed her eyes and leaned up on her knees to where she was over his chest. Her hands spread as wide as they could. Murmuring softly, chanting in her strange native tongue. Her skin went from a dim glow, brightening with each word until she was a brilliant white light.
Adam could still hear Blake’s thoughts. He was amazed at what she was doing to Adam and watched in wonder while she performed what he thought of was some type of magic. He wondered briefly if she was woodland fey. If there were werewolves, there had to be other creatures out there in the woods too.
Adam hadn’t thought of that before. He continued staring at the brightly glowing woman kneeling on the ground and then back to his hands. The knowledge struck him. He was there in his spirit form, looking at his body lying peacefully on the scattered foliage. Adam closed his eyes and wondered if this was how it was to be dead and hoped like hell it wasn’t. Is this what happened to people’s spirits when they died? Did they have to linger and watch what was going on around them? If so, he really didn’t want to be dead. He was only eighteen years old. He was not old enough old die, his life was just beginning.
Suddenly, he sensed something coming towards him. His eyes popped open and he stared in worried confusion at the form that floated effortlessly in his direction. Adam felt the being’s warm glow surrounding him. He began to feel more at ease. The anxiety of seeing his lifeless body on the ground was ebbing.
Adam, there is nothing for you to fear while you are here in your spirit form. Your human body is being healed; it is not your time. Seriana has been sent to help you and your kind. But you must never tell her this. In a short time, she will remember who and what she is. For now, she will stay with Blake, with you.
