Dr. Charles knew Leonhard too well; he knew his friend had
been gravely affected by all the abrupt changes since Elisa had entered their
lives. It was too much for him to take at once. He wanted to spare his friend
from what he was about to reveal.
“Leo.”
“Just go ahead, Charles. Tell me!”
He paused, gazing at Leonhard again. “It is about Elisa.”
“What about her? Something about her illness?”
“Indeed.” Dr. Charles’ countenance was filled with great
concern. “I think I figured out why she keeps relapsing, why her illness
doesn’t seem to go away.”
“What is it, Charles?” He narrowed his eyes, anxious.
“Listen, I have noticed that lately, sometimes, Elisa
doesn’t reflect in mirrors.”
“Wh…what?” Leonhard could hardly believe what he had just
heard. “What are you telling me, Charles?”
“At dinner tonight she didn’t reflect in the tray and
sometimes her image is completely gone from the mirror behind your dining
place. Believe me, I saw your reflection, mine and the Siamese sisters’ but not
Elisa’s!”

How did you start
your writing career?
I never planned or wished to become a writer. I even say I
don’t write, I scramble a few words together! I always had many stories
crossing my mind, due to my work as illustrator. But a couple of years ago, I
thought it could be a good idea to give it a chance… So I published a first
book, The Night of Elisa, for fun, to see what would happen… Now, I have
written a couple more of books, both for “A Cold-Hearted Phoenix” series and I
have more titles coming. So… it all pretty much started out of fun and
curiosity :)
Tell us about your
current release.
My latest book/current release (by the time of this blog
tour) is the first episode of A Cold-Hearted series. It is VERY different from
The Night of Elisa. VIKKI, the lead female character is the “anti” version of
ELISA, for example. The text is a mix of screenwriting and prose, very
experimental and of course, it is illustrated and has a special layout as well
:)
My next releases are the last 2 books of A Cold-Hearted
Phoenix series – and I have started the contents for a collection of short
stories, on a project I call “Visions”. The stories will have a dark, gothic,
mystical undertone and the book will be illustrated as well.
When in the day/night
do you write? How long per day?
Thank goodness not every day, or may poor brain would
explode of boringness! Ha! ^.^ But I do the hard work of writing mostly on
weekends and holidays, and one or other time in between jobs. How much I writ
each time varies – from as little as 500 words to 3000. The time of the day or
night – any.
How do you describe
your writing style? Plotter or Pantser? Why?
A mix of both, with tons of experimentation. My mindset when
I write is that I can use everything and anything I like. I must try and see if
different styles or formatting work together, and whatever my guts tell me
works, I may use. That’s something I have learned on painting and therefore I
see my writing as colors that I can mix together and create a unique palette
for each unique work.
What do you do to
unwind and relax?
I like to sit in an armchair and watch the view from the
windows of the living room. I live in a beautiful small valley and the
landscape, due to the weather is ever-changing. I also like to listen to music,
read a good book, browse artworks. I may also take a sketchbook and write down
ideas and sketches.
Is there a piece of
advice that you have received that has really stuck with you? If so, what was
it?
I like to see myself as a person who is very open to
learning. I do seek to learn every day, and hope so to cultivate this attitude
for all the years to come. I think the most important advice I ever got in my
life came from my parents, who have a very big, good heart. It is to respect
people, animals and plants. Also to be always honest and do the right thing -
always. I think they are the base of everything else…
